When I was a little girl, I remember my mother kept an aloe vera plant at the end of the hallway from my room. I passed by it every day and thought it’s not a very pretty plant, with sharp leaves and spines. At that time, I didn’t realize that aloe vera is such an amazing plant that provides numerous remedies to everyday health conditions, besides sun burns.
My journey with aloe vera began at Natural HealthFest I attended in Plano, Texas with a friend. This HealthFest was hosted by Healthy by Nature Radio Show with host, Certified Clinical Nutritionist, Martie Whittekin.
At this HealthFest, I visited with a vendor that shared about Lily of the Desert, he explained to me how amazing this plant really is. He told me it supports healthy digestion, detoxification, muscle/join function, health immune systems, healthy antioxidant levels, supplement absorption and many more. I took a sample taste test, and it was bitter. At that moment, I really wasn’t a believer, but to become a believer in any product you must try it and see the results for yourself.
Skip ahead many years later, a customer at my job, shared how a cup of this Lily of the Dessert juice cured her sons strep and they believed in the curative abilities of aloe vera. She shared with me the name of the product she used and a couple of weeks later I bought my first bottle of the Lily of the Dessert aloe vera juice.
Well, this clear, slightly bitter juice has transformed my life in a way I didn’t think it would! I’m amazed every day how God created this earth with everything we need to improve our health. If only, we would slow down from everyday life commitments to research and find remedies to improve our health outside of traditional pharmaceutical drugs.
Here’s where my life has improved by using Aloe Vera Juice.
Dry Scalp/Dandruff
For many years I struggled with dry scalp, trying every shampoo product out there that advertises it will get rid of dry scalp/dandruff. Many of these products were harsh, smelled medicinal and didn’t work. Often it seemed like it only got worse.
Every other day when I wash my hair, I include a couple tablespoons of aloe vera juice in my shampoo routine. It softens my hair and I saw immediate results with literally no smell or harshness at all.
Acne
I previously shared about the natural facial oatmeal/honey cleanser that helps treat acne. Well, aloe vera juice is often used as a moisturizer, listed on lotions, shampoos and of course for direct use on sunburns, but I found it also helps with any acne flare ups.
I use it every day on my face as a preventative and overall skin health.
Constipation
When I turned 25, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I was young and uninformed, so I followed my doctor's recommendation to treat my thyroid with radioactive iodine. If I would’ve known then, what I know now, I wouldn’t have agreed to that treatment. Instead, I now have hypothyroidism, where my thyroid doesn’t create and release enough thyroid hormone into my bloodstream. I must take a prescription drug that provides me with the hormones my body can no longer naturally creates.
There’s an endless number of symptoms to hypothyroidism. One of the symptoms is constipation. Drinking a ¼ cup of this natural aloe vera juice, a few times a week, has relieved my constipation and provided me with a better quality of life.
Cholesterol
One of the symptoms to hypothyroidism is high cholesterol. Could also be my genetics, none the less, my doctor recommended I take a prescription drug to treat my cholesterol. Instead, I decided to change my diet, and treat it with the use of supplements.
Aloe Vera has an impressive list of nutrients as shared by Martie Whittekin in her book such as;
Vitamins – including antioxidant vitamins C and E, B12
Minerals including zing
Plant sterols (known to slow cholesterol absorption)
20 of the 22 amino acids (building blocks of protein)
Polysaccharides (complex carbohydrates) – the key to Aloe’s magic!
I’m sure you’ve heard an alarming percentage of vitamins and herbal supplements that we consume each day pass through us without being absorbed. Polysaccharides assist with the body’s ability to better absorb supplements, which may otherwise pass through our body without being absorbed.
Drinking ¼ cup of the natural aloe vera juice combined with the heart healthy supplements, has contributed to lowering my cholesterol levels by 55 points within the last 2 years.
Skin flare ups such as rash, bumps, itchy spots
Simply spray directly onto the affected area and watch it clear up within less than a day.
Canker sores or mouth blisters
Simply gargle or spray directly onto the affected area and watch the healing commence.

Here’s all you’ll need to begin your journey to healing through this natural herbal remedy.
I find my Lily of the Desert, Aloe Vera Juice at my local Sprouts store, but I’m sure you’ll be able to find it at Whole Foods or online.
My spray bottle is glass, but a small plastic one will be fine as well.
There are so many benefits to using Aloe Vera Juice, I only shared some examples today. Try it and share your story on how aloe vera juice has helped you!
